The Machame Route is one of the most popular ways to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. The nights before and after the climb are not included in the program, but it is recommended to add 2 nights before the start of the ascent in order to recover from the trip and acclimatize to the altitude. Day 1:
Arrival in Moshi
When you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport, a Tasemango Safari Adventures representative will pick you up and take you to your hotel so you can recover from the flight. Briefing with your guide to discuss itinerary and equipment.
Day 2: Machame Gate to Machame Camp
Transfer by car from Moshi to Machame Gate (1,800 m)
Registration at the gate and start of the hike to Camp Machame (3,010 m)
5 to 7-hour hike through the rainforest
Day 3: Machame camp to Shira camp
Hike from Machame Camp to Shira Camp (3,840 m)
4-6 hour hike through alpine forest and moorland
