The Rongai route is another popular way to climb Kilimanjaro. It is considered one of the most picturesque and least frequented routes, offering a more secluded and wild experience.
This ascent begins on the north side of Kilimanjaro, near the Tanzanian-Kenyan border, and follows a gentler, less steep route than the other routes. It also offers breathtaking views of Mawenzi, Kilimanjaro’s second-highest peak. The Rongai route is generally completed in 6-7 days and offers a better chance of a successful ascent due to its gentler route and longer acclimatization time.
